While I was bustling around the house I walked through the living room and spotted the cat, soaking up this shaft of late afternoon sun. His eyes were closed and he was purring. I set the laundry down, picked up the camera, and took several shots of this scene. It was a pleasure to paint because it reminded me of an interlude where I stopped everything to look at something beautiful.
