I loved the photo of this lion! I was a bit doubtful that I could do his majestic bearing justice in a painting, but decided to try a head shot, (because the painting I did of my cat Sally-Cat turned out pretty well), so decided to challenge myself with this beautiful beast. I love the large cats (and small ones), but have never considered painting them before. Now this is one of my favorite paintings.
