Experiments in Mixed Media
Join Carol Nelson in this two day Denver workshop, where she will share many of the methods and materials she uses in her acrylic mixed media paintings.
Carol is a Colorado painter and certified Golden Art Educator.
Carol’s teaching schedule has taken her to multiple states in the past couple of years, and she is excited to be the first artist featured at Kimberly Conrad Fine Art Studio Gallery, which opens December 3rd.
This workshop is limited to only six artists, so Carol will be able to give lots of individual attention to every student.
You will learn about the mediums and materials Carol uses, including several Golden mediums, Tyvek, Golden High Flow Acrylics, economical substitutes for expensive art products, methods of presentation for a finished piece, methods of attachment, glues and pastes, epoxy resin application, combusted foil, marbleized paper, and more.
Carol will discuss color theory and composition in abstract work, the importance of having an internet presence for your work, and bring examples of her own work to illustrate different approaches to mixed media.
Enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the day during “Show and Tell”, when Carol will (gently) critique the works of the day.
