Crab Apple - Impressionistic Still Life Oil Painting by Pam Holnback

Crab Apple
7" x 5"  Oil
$75.00 + $10.00 s/h

Some years we get blossoms on our fruit trees and some years we don't.  It depends on when the last frost is each spring.  At 6,000 feet we can have a freeze in Colorado Springs into May.

"Shaken, Not Stirred"...Bond, James Bond

Oil 8" x 6"

As I've said, I often get my quotes from Google.  For this one, the quote has become so famous, it was right there in my head!  No searches were required.

But Man Made Wine - Impressionistic Still Life by Pam Holnback

"But Man Made Wine"
10 of 30
6" x 6"  Oil
$100.00 + $10. s/h
I've painted a similar wine still life before.  But, I like the burgundy against the gray/blue. So I'm going with what works for me.

I recently stated that I use Google for title ideas.  Today I Googled "phrases about wine" and a whole page of wine quotes was there in front of me.  I chose:
"God made water, but man made wine."  by Victor Hugo.

Pomegranate - Impressionistic Still Life by Pam Holnback

Pomegranate
9 of 30
Oil 14" x 11"
$295.00 + $10. s/h

One of my goals this year is to paint more large pieces.  I'm not sure if 14" x 11" counts as large, but, it's not small.  So, I think it's ok.  Another goal is to finish paintings.  I started this previously and only got the pomegranates finished, they don't last.  So I just finished the rest.

Another of my wine series.  My friend, June Heinsoth, came up with this title.  I told her that I was working in my grays.  Kind of makes me hum the words in my mind.  So, Cheers! and hum along.

Chardonnay, Please - Impressionistic Wine Still Life by Pam Holnback

Chardonnay, Please
7 of 30
6" x 6" Oil
$100.00 + $10. s/h
I'll be posting several wine, and maybe some cocktail, related paintings over the next few weeks as I get ready for an upcoming wine tasting at G44 Gallery.  However, these are available.  I can always paint another for the gallery.

I always make art goals every year.  I recently mentioned that one of them is to paint more large pieces.    Another is to work on grays.  These grays are dark, but I love the drama created.

When we were in Tuscany last May we went to several wine tastings.  Everything tastes better when enjoyed where it's grown and made.  I'm getting several wine and cocktail paintings ready for an upcoming wine tasting at a local gallery, G44 Gallery, in early February.  More on that later.

I started this piece earlier this week on Election Day.  It seemed appropriate to post it on Veterans Day.     This is the flag that my dad received for his dad's service to our country.  My dad passed it down to my son.  I have painted and posted it before.

Please go to my blog: http://pamholnback.blogspot.com to read more about this piece and the Veterans in my family.

Flower Power - Impressionistic Still Life by Pam Holnback

Flower Power
6" x 6"  Oil
$75.00 + $10. s/h

In this little piece the shadow has become almost as important as the flower.  I love the way my eye moves around the flower, around the shadow, around the vase shadow top, around the top of the vase, up the stem and then moves all over again!

Pudding Bowl - Impressionistic Still Life by Pam Holnback

Pudding Dish
6" x 6"  Oil
$75.00 + $10. s/h

I spent last week in Santa Fe taking an advanced workshop from Carol Marine.  I have to say that it was a great week.  For six of us it was the third workshop that we've taken together, so it was a mini reunion.  The rest of the class was "new" but we all became friends quickly.

European Coffee Maker -- Impressionistic Still Life by Pam Holnback

European Coffee Maker
8" x 6"  Oil
$100.00 + $10. s/h

My husband and I just got back from an incredible, once in a life time trip!  Those of you who follow my blog know that we love to travel.  So, to celebrate our birthdays and 30th anniversary, we decided to take a trip.  Peter wanted to go on a transatlantic crossing and I wanted to go to Italy for 3 weeks.  Since relationships need a lot of compromising, we did both!  I posted off and on during the trip as we had internet access and time, and will try to catch up with more paintings and trip photos.

This was one of five coffee makers in the apartment we rented in Lido in Venice.  (We found the apartment on VRBO, vacation rental by owner).  I loved the colors and reflections of all the coffee makers.  And, got to love European coffee!

$195.00 + $10. s/h

These salt and pepper shakers were a wedding gift 30 years ago.  They usually sit on the kitchen table.  The morning light creates great light shapes and shadows on both them and on the table.
