KM2852 Fleeting Moment by Colorado artist Kit Hevron Mahoney (autumn, aspen landscape)

Last fall I was driving through Vail, Colorado in early October. This was a scene I shot from the car in the morning right after a light rain fall when the sun came out and lit the tops of some of the aspen trees. I did not get to the mountains this fall so I am reliving the fantastic Colorado autumn days from last years photos.

16x8" unframed original oil

And the wind, full of wantonness,
wooes like lover
The young aspen-trees till they
tremble all over.

Contemporary impressionistic fine art oil painting

Amethyst Aspen
oil 24x48
I love to try to capture the light this time of year.
This field of Aspen trees had all lost their leaves and as the
sun was setting the light played off their naked trunks.
"Trees are much like human beings and enjoy each other's company.
Only a few love to be alone."

"Autumn Pastures #3" by Astrid Paustian

Oil on Canvas, 8" x 10", $175.-
A quick study in oil of one of my favorite places, the pastures of Boulder Valley Ranch in Boulder, Colorado. After a hectic, but fun and rewarding, Open Studios during the past 2 weekends I am ready to enjoy and paint these precious days of autumn.
I just love the warm colors of the trees and grasses, the brilliant Colorado sky, and the intense light that makes everything glow!

"Autumn Path" by Astrid Paustian

Oil on panel, 8" x 10", framed in a simple, elegant, black frame, $225.-
This painting depicts one of my favorite walks, around Wonderland Lake in Boulder.
This large Cottonwood tree is a beautiful sight in Autumn, especially when back lit.
It is like an old friend, providing shelter from sun and rain, quietly witnessing people and pets walking, children playing, and families growing up in this beautiful place.
