Art Walk Donation

This resplendent floral painting is a donation for the Salida Art Walk held each year in June. I plan on painting 2 pieces, and this is the first one. Last year I painted geese and they were very popular. This year, I wanted one of the paintings for feature one of my pallet knife florals.  This year the Art Walk auction will allow anyone who wants to buy the painting ahead of time for $160.00 to do so and not have to participate in the live auction. Visit their site for more information: http://salidaartwalk.org/

MRS. CROW'S SPRING VISION

30 x 30

Oil on Board

I have been working on this painting for a couple days. This story painting came about while browsing thru some reference photos. I had a photo of this crow that I wanted to put into a painting, but I was also longing for springtime since it has been unusually cold for December in these parts, and I was looking at all these wonderful springtime flowers. My imagination took over and  Mrs. Crow became my wistful self enjoying a beautiful spring garden. This painting was created using just brushes (unusual for me...)  I will have to do my next painting with the pallet knives. 'Mrs. Crow's Spring Vision' is painted on 1/4 inch board that is attached to a wood box frame (looking similar to a gallery wrapped canvas) and is for sale for $875.00. Contact me to purchase and  regarding shipping charges. Visit my blog for more information: susanmspohn.blogspot.com   also take a look at my website: susanmspohn.com

Susan Spohn -- Floral--Early Dawn

Floral--Early Dawn

5 x 7, Oil on Board

Another section from a flower garden, taken in the morning in a semi-shady location. I liked the flower shapes and nice colors, though I wish it had been a brightly lit photo. I used both pallet knives and brushes to  create this scene. This painting is for sale for $55.00 and includes free shipping in the USA. Floral Whimsy

6 x 13

oil on watercolor paper

Hmmmm.... I started out to paint some images for my original oil painted cards... but then these flowers started dancing about in time to the music on my favorite local radio station. And I ended up with a painting I call Floral Whimsy. But that is what happens sometimes, especially to me; all my best intentions, and my muse appears leading astray on to another unplanned painting.

This painting is for sale for $125.00 and includes free shipping in the Continental USA. To purchase, use the PayPal button located on blog, or contact me for other payment methods. Visit my blog to purchase this painting or to view other paintings.  susanmspohn.blogspot.com
