"Wisteria" Watercolor by Colorado Artist Mary Arneson

5 x 7 Watercolor in the Sumi-E style
Framed in a simple black wooden frame

Simplicity is sometimes the key to painting in the Sumi-E style. Every stroke of the brush represents the one and only layer being applied. Unlike regular watercolor or acrylic, you paint each part of a flower's petal only once...no going back for fixes! This makes for a challenging and interesting painting.
