Contemporary Impressionist Landscape Painting,Colorado Landscape, Fine Art Oil Painting,“Sunny Sunday” by Colorado Contemporary Fine Artist Jody Ahrens

Let your imagination explore the many nooks and crannies awaiting you on this beautiful Sunny Sunday afternoon. Deep in the canyons beyond is wild horse country. Occasionally they wander down to this meadow alongside the river. If you are quiet, you will hear them before you see them.

Aspens in the Park by Maryann Leake Colorado Contemporary Artist

leake@baisley.org Aspens in the Park by Maryann Leake 18 x 24" acrylic on canvas 225.00 It took a while to paint this in the clearing south of this view. So many folks stopped by to watch and talk on their stroll. And most said they wanted to paint and had canvas and easel in the basement..

"Rock Face" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on standard-width canvas
unframed (ready to be framed)

11" x 14"

This painting has haunted me for a while...I started it 3 years ago and put it aside. I felt that it grabbed your attention, but there was something lacking. The foreground was interesting, but there just wasn't enough going on in the background. I reworked the background. (acrylics can ALWAYS be reworked...which is a good and bad thing) I added in the rows of ridges, one in shadow and two hilighted by the sun. Now, I feel the viewer's eye is able to move through the painting without being stuck on the rock face.
