This painting was inspired by a trip I took to Portugal, Gibraltar and Spain on a sailing ship. It was absolutely the most wonderful vacation I have ever had. Being on a small boat like that allowed us to see small ports and places cruise boats could never go. The colors of the buildings against the Mediterranean are just delightful and everyone still hangs their laundry out to dry.
