Red Sand, An alla prima landscape painting

A couple of weeks ago I took my black lab, Daisy, for a sunrise walk. I was struck by how beautiful and green the high desert has been this year. The sun rose over the hillside behind me and illuminated the landscape in front of me with yellows, golds, reds, and warm green tones. All those warm, happy colors (do I sound like Bob Ross?) danced in front of my eyes and I could hardly wait to get to my studio and mix color! I look forward to many more sunrise reveries like this one!
