The inspiration was the evergreen tree against the cliffs for this plein air painting done on location this morning at Mitchel Creek Canyon

After painting most of the scene, a sunspot allowed me to light up the edge of the cliffs, grass, and some other simple notes.

What a day to celebrate! This is my 500th posting! As my kids karate teacher says,  "When you get to 500, you are just beginning, when you reach 1000, you are getting better and when you reach 10,000, you are good!"
