Westie -- Dog Portrait

The photo for this pet portrait had a lot of
garden hose
swirled around in circles and loops in the background, as I was
sketching I just made big loops to represent this hose. Then when I was
painting, I saw it all as big shapes of different colors. This was a fun
idea, and so I put it in there. The rest of the painting remained more
realistic, and since this Westie is playing with a tennis ball I love
the repetition of all the circular shapes repeated through out this
painting.
