Snake River from Wilson-Bald Eagle Road Original impressionism oil painting by Janice Trane Jones 16 x 20

In preparation for the Teton Plein air paint out during July I have started painting local scenes from the Jackson Hole area. This is an original oil on a custom stretched canvas that measures 16 x 20 unframed.
The scene is from a look-out near the town of Wilson on a spot called Bald Eagle Road. Ironically as I was sketching there were Bald Eagles flying above me. The Snake River winds endless through the valley and one can just imagine the early trappers sitting on this ridge and watching the same things I was painting. It is awe inspiring to be in a place like that.
