I've been thinking a lot about France lately--watching the Tour, a friend just sent me a beautiful Van Gogh postcard from Provence, etc. so I've been wanting to paint something Provence inspired. When I saw these sunflowers in bright blue bucket at one of the Denver farmer's markets a few weeks ago I knew I'd found the perfect subject.
