Contemporary impressionistic fine art oil painting

Amethyst Aspen
oil 24x48
I love to try to capture the light this time of year.
This field of Aspen trees had all lost their leaves and as the
sun was setting the light played off their naked trunks.
"Trees are much like human beings and enjoy each other's company.
Only a few love to be alone."
~Jens Jensen, Siftings, 1939'

A Triptych journey, creating a large oil painting part 2

each canvas is 24x60
To continue my journey painting my "Aspen Story" (c)BSYatesArt;
I blocked in color in sections on my canvas. I like to paint the darkest focus, first.
This is where the viewers eye perceives depth.
I line up my first (middle) completed canvas next to my working canvas.
I want these to be a continuous landscape.
So on to painting my trees.
Stay tuned for my next blog to see where this journey goes;

Aspen, Early Snow, by Colorado artist BarbYatesDudding

10x20 oil on canvas
As always, I love to paint trees.
This grove of Aspen trees are across the road from me, so they are my subject of many
paintings.
Quote by c.c. Cummings;
i thank you God  for most this amazing day; for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes!
