"Iridescent" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

Edges are painted a complementary mauve/grey

12" x 40"

I think that winter is an exciting season to paint. I love the palette of cool mauves, pinks and greys. This painting has been texturized with acrylic gels and accented with iridescent paint to capture the effect of the backlit sun.

"Snow in the Footshills" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas

24" x 30"

This reminds me very much of home. Deep snow, crusted on top from the wind and undulating foothills that mark the horizon. It will be a while before spring returns!

"Wintery Country Road" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on Standard Width Canvas

3" Wide Copper-Coloured Frame

10" x 20"

This painting is based on photographs that I shot on a foggy day in Calgary several winters ago. I like the muted cool palette, and the hint of sun trying to share its rays.

"Snowy Days are here again" by Janice Wright

Acrylic on Standard Width Canvas

ready to be framed

8" x 10"

When we had our first BIG snow of the season, which was not that long ago, I snuck outside with my camera and shot the snow laden trees in my neighbourhood. I am happy with the way this painting depicts the snowy day. I like the ordinariness of the image (is that a word?). Sometimes we feel that we need to go to a beautiful garden or national park to find beauty, but often it is right in our backyard.

Price: $175.00 plus $15.00 for shipping and handling in the US.
