This hereford bull seems quite clear in his intentions...hence the title, "No Bull." 24x30, oil on gallery-wrapped canvas.

Back east, it is the Robin that is heralded as the harbinger of Spring. Out here in the midwest and west, it is the Meadowlark's song, rising up from a newly greening field, that foretells the warmer weather of Spring. Although this morning, the weather is acting more like Winter - cold and snowing!
An overcast winter day creates a number of challenges for me: especially muted colors and low contrast. Working from a photo I took while visiting my daughter in Enterprise, I really had to concentrate on not over-saturating my colors. Anyone who knows my paintings knows I love color, bright and bold. However, I liked the feeling in the photograph of imminent snow...so I thought I'd give it a try. This little 5x7 painting will be available in a few weeks at Kelly's Gallery in Joseph Oregon, along with the other paintings in my series of Wallowa County Barns.

This Palette knife oil painting was done on 5x7 gessoed masonite board. It is 1/8 inch thick, so will fit any ready made 5x7 frame, or may be custom framed. To purchase, contact
