Collage, Mixed Media Painting “MEADOWLAND” by Colorado Artist Carol Nelson

I love the work of Richard Diebenkorn. He often painted to what looked like aerial views of the landscape. Although this painting didn't start out that way, it ended up looking to me like an aerial view of farmland. Several collage papers were used to provide textures. This painting comes with a black floater frame.

Geologic Abstract Painting, “SECRET CAVERN" by Colorado Mixed Media Abstract Artist Carol Nelson

I was going for a loose abstract look when I started painting this one. But as I kept working on it, it became increasingly a geologic abstract. I can't help it. I love painting rocks and rock textures. I can imagine coming across a cavern like this while hiking in the mountains, near where I live. I think I would be too afraid of disturbing the residents if I were to peek in there.

Geologic Abstract Painting "Stepping Out 2" by Colorado Mixed Media Artist Carol Nelson Fine Art

This mixed media painting is somewhat of an unstructured geologic abstract with a lot of texture. I like the very dramatic colors and value shifts from black to white. The design wraps around the sides. The painting looks good in either a horizontal or vertical presentation. 17"x23"x1.5" Mixed Media on Canvas-Available

Contemporary Art, Abstract Painting "VISUALIZING FAITH" by Intuitive Artist Joan Fullerton

For me, this image suggests the vulnerable feelings of uncertainty. Within the emptiness of the void, exists full potential and all possibilities. We must keep going, step by step, with faith, hope and charity.

New Release Mixed Media Abstract "Passages" by Carol Nelson Fine Art

This textured abstract started out as a different painting that I just couldn’t get right. This is the rework of the first work, and now I love it. Tones of brown, blue, turquoise, raw sienna, and gold make up this composition. Close inspection will show the numerous textures.
