Nothing says summer like a beautiful window flower box. This one was particularly eye catching because of the contrast between the red geraniums and the white paint of the house and window curtains. The old fashioned curtains somehow match the traditional use of a longtime favorite annual.

Nature can be such an inspiration for so many things especially a painting. The blossoms this spring were so stunning and fragrant. I can see why the bees love them so much. I was trying to capture some of my bees on these flowers but they were to fast for me to catch them in action with my camera. So the painting is a portrait of just the cherry blossoms at their peak.

As I was painting today I looked down on my painting table and noticed how the key ring and pencils were laying on it and I thought that would be fun to paint. One of the most intriguing observations about Venice was the serenity of the city. With everybody using boats in one form or another for transportation there wasn't the constant roar of motor vehicles in the atmosphere. This peacefulness lead me to capture some of the boats in my paintings.
