Leading Her Own Parade, Julie Kirkland

I'm participating in a show at the Tri Lakes Center for the Arts that opens on August 6th. The show's theme is "I Am Woman" and it will be paintings of women, by women. I had photographed this little girl purposefully striding down a street, and she seemed to have the perfect attitude for "I Am Woman." In real life, she was clutching a juice cup close to her body. I left out the cup, substituted the balloon, and suddenly she was leading her own parade! 8 x 10 oil on panel. Framed. $300 plus tax (if applicable) and shipping. Contact me at info@juliekirkland.com
for information.

KMD2667 Gleaming in the Shadows by Kit Hevron Mahoney

I couldn't resist this scene from my trip to Crested Butte. Pat and I were resting over a cup of iced coffee in a perfectly lush and restful garden provided by a coffee house in town where this cart was part of the garden and magical atmosphere. We were relaxing at the end of a hot day of photographing every wildflower in sight. (We were tired as there were flower scenes in every direction one could see and we attempted to capture them all. I'm still sorting through the pictures!

"Spring in Bloom" by Martha Kisling

SPRING IN BLOOM
Original Watercolor on gessoed paper - 11x15

Fresh bouquet of spring flowers painted with watercolor on a gessoed paper. The gesso creates a slick surface for the watercolor to slip and slide around on, creating fun textures and shapes.

Landslide I by Janice Wright

Acrylic on smooth watercolour paper
8" x 10"
handsomely fits into a standard-sized frame

This is one of a series of three landslide pieces. I actually rather like the way I am able to move the paint around with a palette knife on the smooth paper - in the past I have worked on rougher paper that mimicked the surface of a piece of canvas.

Ships with a light coloured mat.
Price unframed: $85.00 + 10.00 for shipping in the US.
Price framed: $125.00 + 10.00 for shipping the US.

Susan Spohn ---- Summer Garden II Diptych

Summer Garden Diptych II
I really love the size and wonderful lush garden feeling of this diptych painting; a 2 piece oil painting on 1/2 board.  Each piece measures 30 x 30, so combined it is 5 feet long. This painting is called Summer Garden Diptych II. I used several photo references I took from summer gardens earlier this year. The photos over-flowed with color and I tried to capture some of that splendor in this painting. Several of the flower gardens were quite neat and organized, and even though there are quite a few plants in this painting, I think it gives a very rich feeling, folks have said they feel they are inside a garden, or reminded of Alice in Wonderland. This painting sold today, to an avid gardener.

"Apples A Day" Watercolor Paintings by Colorado Artist Mary Arneson

Italy Market 7 x 5 Acrylic Urban Landscape of Italy

$125.00 + $10.00 S/H

The quaint street markets in Italy were abundant and each had its own unique character. The flower market here was quite busy and the owner seemed to know everybody by name and what they were looking for. Nobody had to really make a decision the shop owner made the selection with out consultation. It was extraordinary to watch.

Susan Spohn --- Bee Balm & Blue Thistle

Bee Balm & Blue Thistle
Oil Painting on Watercolor Paper
18 x 24
This is a luscious painting with thick and lively strokes mainly acquired by using the pallet knife. I painted this piece on sealed watercolor paper and then adhered it to board. It is framed in a gold with black speckled frame. This is a scene from one of my gardens a few years ago. The bee balm was always so glorious! And then I tried these blue thistle flowers in that garden; what a lovely mix! This piece was sold today. Contact me for more information on garden paintings.

KMD2665 August View by Kit Hevron Mahoney

This is a palette knife painting of one of my favorite vistas here in Colorado; the top of Kenosha Pass. I have only seen it this vibrant one time several summers ago and luckily I shot lots of pictures to work from. I go back to this spot every year in hopes of finding such abundance of flowers and colors but nature likes to keep it different each year.
