"Freya" by Astrid Paustian
I painted the portrait of this little cat about 2 months ago and sold it during an outdoor art fair yesterday. I enjoy painting pet portraits, always starting with the eyes and trying to capture the individual personalities.

Lost in Tijuanna, 12 X 12 Original Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas by Susan Jean $200
Chena was an extroadinary cat we had while living in Alaska. She rode in the car with us and layed across the dashboard. She played at the playground with us and went up and down the jungle gym. She healed our hearts after losing our second child at the age of 2 1/2 to a heart problem. She was tiny, but so protective. She was killed by a moose in our yard one quiet winter evening, while trying to ward him off. We will never forget her great spirit and love for us. The painting shows her in a strange setting, like somewhere in Tijuanna on the streets looking lost. That's how she looked when we found her in the animal rescue. You never know by outward appearances what lies inside.
