First Hint of Autumn" the 6th of 6 by Lelija Roy

This is the sixth in this series of six "hints" of Autumn. Denver artist, Lelija Roy, will display a sample of her Aspenspaces series of paintings at the Uniquely Natural Coop (Lafayette, CO) during August. Aspenspaces is an extensive exploration of the changing colors of the aspen grove. Lelija has spent over a year documenting this beauty in many forms of painting expression. This featured artist exhibit focuses on smaller works but also includes a selection of her larger pieces.

Lelija exhibits her award winning miniatures (framed 6"x4" paintings) nationally in juried shows and galleries. Her online shop, Palmeta (http://www.zibbet.com/Palmeta) offers only miniatures. She is represented by several commercial galleries in Denver and in Santa Fe, NM. Her artist portfolio website features her larger works, (http://lelija.net).

Mother nature is teasing us with the first hint of a golden autumn. Yet as I walk through the grove it seems too early for the leaves to be turning. This is the second of six "hints" of autumn.

"Copper-headed Sister" by Lelija Roy

This is one of the "trees" from the Aspenspace series. Each tree is sculpted with color and texture. Trees sometimes appear as "solo sisters" and other times as small groves of three to five tress. They celebrate the seasons as reflected on the intricate bark of aspens.
