A Different Kind Of Canvas - Paintings by Colorado Artist Mary Arneson

The last couple of weeks I've been so busy completing glass painting orders and taking care of one of our little Pomeranian dogs. I haven't had a chance to even touch a paintbrush to a traditional canvas. Here's hoping all that can change in the next couple of days!

Whatever my canvas, if I'm painting, I'm happy!!!

"Rub A Dub Dub" Painting by Colorado Artist Mary Arneson

Enamels and Acrylics were the paints of choice for this tub painting.

I love my original claw foot tub and it has lived in my house since 1884. This old tub deserved a face lift so I had the inside re-enameled and then proceeded to freshen up the claw feet. As I stood back and admired what had been done it struck me....what was Really needed was something to make everyone smile as they rounded the corner into this bathroom....yes, a scene of underwater play was most certainly called for. So with cushion under my bottom and with paints and brushes surrounding me, I set out to paint two or three fish playing under the surface of tropical waters. Well, once I started I couldn't stop so what you see is where my imagination took me.

I hope you enjoy seeing my whimsical tub painting. Want a tub painting of your very own? Email me: marysbrush@aol.com

The beauty of the Cougar (Mountain Lion) never ceases to amaze me. While I have seen these beautiful creatures in zoos, I've never had the privilege of seeing one in the wild. "Hear Me Roar" Acrylic Paintings by Colorado Artist Mary Arneson

10 x 8 Artist Board

Going to the Colorado Springs Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

Lions are probably the favorite feline of the big cat family. Their very movements speak of grace, watchful casualness, and incredible strength. To be able to see these magnificent animals in person is a real treasure. Although this particular painting is scheduled to be delivered to our zoo, if you'd like your own lion painting, let me know at: marysbrush@aol.com
