that bloom high in the Colorado mountains in summer.

SOLD Hollyhocks and Shadows Orignal oil on panel by Janice Trane Jones 12 x 16

SOLD This is an original oil on a panel that measures 12 x 16 unframed. This painting was done during the Teton Plein Air competition in Jackson Hole, Wyoming during  July 2012. I was trying to find a great setting for flowers and came across these hollyhocks in bloom against the heat of a barn. It was unusually hot for Jackson Hole at 90 degrees. Plein Air Alaska: Sitka & Surrounds by Pam Holnback

I created another plein air video. This one is of our trip last May to Sitka, Alaska. I posted these paintings and some of the photos from our trip in my blog in June, so some of this may be familiar. Enjoy!

I just watched this, and when viewed on my blog, about 1/2 an inch is missing on the right side, ie: the whole front page doesn't show (some of the title is missing), some of the paintings are centered and there should be black on both sides and there isn't. I changed it in the embed section to fit, or so I thought, and it's still a bit off center. I guess if you want to see the whole page you can search for me on YouTube and watch it again there! Anyway, thanks for watching!

"Waneka Lake Morning" by Astrid Paustian

Oil on canvas paper, mounted on gatorboard 7" x 9", $75.-
A beautiful morning of plein air painting with a wonderful group of artists from the Louisville Art Association. What a great way to start the day!
I love color. There is so much to discover about color when painting in the natural light outside. Now, if I could only get out of bed a little earlier!

"March Thaw" by Gary L. Jansen

7" x 5"
Oil on panel

This was painted a few days ago near Lyons - now I'm sure that snow is all gone.
It felt more like summer today than late winter. The down-side is that the wind is blowing, and the foothills are on fire (again!). I'll be saying an extra prayer for my friends who live up near Jamestown and up Lefthand Canyon.
