I have decided to work more with my pallet knives because I personally, love the texture and pure colors. I love the variety of markings and the Impressionistic feeling it gives my paintings. So, I decided to try another black bear painting on a small 5 x7 inch board. Now for those who do not know, this is very difficult. (big knives, little board) ha, ha. And here is the second painting of a black bear. The reference photo was interesting as it was wooded with some fall color in the under bush. I like this variety of black bear since it has a brownish muzzle, I was looking at photos of some other black bears and they were all black, and would not have been quite as much fun to paint as those with a little variety in their fur. Had a request to paint some black bears, so here is the first painting. Three black bear cubs climbing up a tree. I think they are very cute at this age, not that I would want one as a pet though.
